I am unable to record or save clips
If you're unable to record, it may be that:
- a.) The game is not supported by Insights Capture
- b.) Insights Capture has ran into an issue that's preventing the app from recording
Is my game supported?
You can check to see if a game is supported
Opening Insights Capture's settings
Clicking the "+" icon next to "Game Settings"
Searching for your game in the "My Games" page that appears (see below)
But my game is supported!
In the event your game is supported, then it's usually one of two cases:
You've ran into a one-off error that's preventing your app from making new recordings. This can be quickly worked around with a restart of your app & game.
We've introduced an issue in either the overlay, recording or game event systems that's preventing the app from recording.
In either case, we ask that you reach out on our Discord so we can take a deeper look at what's going on with what you're running into.
Insights Capture's Desktop Window isn't working correctly
In the past we've seen reports about:
Insights Capture randomly closing (usually after clicking a button)
Insights Capture showing a giant error where the Video Dashboard or Video Replay page should be
Insights Capture doing nothing when clicked
All of these are symptoms of a critical app error introduced by an edge-case issue we were unable to catch during testing.
For the most part, we've managed to squash a majority of these errors & added additional code to prevent them from completely bricking the app- but we still get an issue every few weeks like this :(
But annoyingly, we'll need some information from you in order to figure out what went wrong in your case, so we can get a fix released ;-;
