Feature Request: Only record & save game events like kills, deaths & assists

This post covers the request to add a feature that only records specific game events like kills, deaths, knocks, etc.
The original request was specific to Fortnite, however, the system should be applicable to any game event-supported title.

I was wondering if it's possible to set up insights to auto clip Fortnite eliminations while you are running a custom lobby & spectating? I have a Community Game Night that I host and I'd love to be able to get highlights from it without needing to clip the elims myself from the recording.

Just to add my response from Discord here:

I think overall what @JDWilliams#5548 is requesting seems possible. Technically it can be achieved with the "auto-montage" system, that automatically clips out game events from recorded sessions; however you still have to record the full match & delete the original recording once you have your highlights.

But the tech partially exists with Instant Replay, we'd just need to trigger the replay every time an event is triggered.

The only major issue I could see with a feature that'd allow you to trigger IR based on a Game Event is lost footage. The game event can be unstable at times, especially after a major update to the game you're playing. An event that misfires (either at the wrong time, or just not at all) could result in lost footage :whine₁:

The upside however is the amount you save in storage space (provided your PC can handle the requirements of your IR settings), so for some that might be worth it :Thonk: I know I'm tired of managing 500 GBs worth of recording.
