Step 1
Using third-party game recorder software such as Insights Capture is mandatory to complete this quest. Follow the instructions and customize the recording quality according to your PC specs. Finally, choose the video library folder to store your recordings in and set the storage limit. Step 2
Make sure that Insights Capture is smoothly running in the background before launching Overwatch 2. While in-game, you’ll notice the overlay in the top right indicating that the game recording is active.

There are three ways of capturing gameplay footage with this easy-to-use recording software.
- Automatic detection feature — if you’re trying to figure out how to easily save Overwatch replays on your hard drive, this is the default way to do it. The recording starts automatically when the match begins, and ends once it’s finished. The automatic detection feature can be turned on/off in the Settings menu.
- Pressing the hotkey to start/stop a new recording (F7 default hotkey)
- Instant Replay (F6 default hotkey) — capture the previous X seconds of gameplay. You can enable this option in the Settings menu and also adjust the duration of the instant replay clip. This feature is particularly useful if you don’t want to record the entire match but only the most exciting bits of gameplay.
Step 4
After deciding on the optimal method, you’re all set to start making Overwatch videos. The in-game overlay in the top right corner of your screen will signal that the recording has started. You can always start or stop the recording using hotkeys.
Step 5
Closing Overwatch 2 takes you to the Insights Capture dashboard automatically, where your most recent masterpiece is featured on the big screen. You can turn this option on and off in the App tab of the Settings
